Phantom is our latest rescue hero – a ten-year-old large black & white tom found badly injured at the roadside by a passer-by.

The flesh on the right-hand side of his face, neck and shoulder was badly grazed, probably after collision with or being dragged by a vehicle, according to our vet. The large wounds have taken over 3 months to get to this stage, so his vet costs have added up in that time. Despite the obvious trauma this loving cat has let us clean and dress his wounds twice a day, endured all sorts of treatments at the vets and without so much as a hiss or a scratch! He loves being brushed and will sit on your lap being fussed for as long as you sit there.

The fur will probably not grow back where the deepest wounds were, on his face & neck, and the scar tissue is pulling down his right eye. So he will need eye drops for a few months yet, to stop the delicate eye membranes drying out.

Named Phantom (the scars being the only similarity with his operatic namesake), this gorgeous boy will otherwise make a full recovery and is looking for a new forever home.
