Longterm foster cats
We are often looking for longterm foster homes for cats that are either elderly or have a chronic–but manageable–health condition, and cannot otherwise be rehomed. Our longterm foster program gives these cats a vital lifeline and second chance of a loving home. The charity continues to pay for the associated veterinary care/medication, whilst fosterers provide the loving home environment these cats desperately need. On the practical side, it is essential to have a car, or access to a car, for picking up food/litter etc and for transport to and from our vets. In the York area this is Battle Flatts vets (Pocklington, Stamford Bridge); around Hull it is Swanbridge veterinary group (Swanland, Brough, Beverley, Market Weighton). Fosterers care for the cat as they would their own, for the lifetime of the animal. Veterinary care must be coordinated via the charity. To find out more about longterm fostering, please call the charity coordinator for a chat, on 07967 627492 (after 7pm). Photo, a current foster cat, Billy, in his new loving foster home…
