Four of the 16 youngsters saved by Caring for Cats
This is a very special Appeal of the Month as we are looking for homes for the group of 16 young unwanted cats and kittens that the charity saved from being destroyed. The animals were found at the home of an elderly person who had to be taken to hospital due to serious illness. All the white-and-black cats are around one to one-and-a-half years old, and although timid are in very good health.
Rose Atkin, charity coordinator, said: “Our vets rang me for help when the terrified animals were sent to them to be destroyed. It is precisely for cases like this, where no-one else will help, that the charity was set up. All the cats are beautiful animals and although frightened at the moment will make lovely pets. But the charity’s accommodation is fully stretched and we are desperately looking for new homes for them. They are now all neutered, microchipped and have had a thorough vet check.”
If you can offer any of these beautiful cats a loving home please call Rose on 07967 627492. See individual cats on our Cats for Adoption page.

We have chosen the Valentine’s month of February to launch our special ‘We Love’ campaign. The Red Heart symbol will be featured on our Cats for Adoption photos for those animals that are usually last to be homed – typically black and black & white cats – through no fault of their own. The symbol is designed to raise awareness of so-called 'Black cat syndrome' and will also be used to highlight our Appeal of the Month.
Look out for the heart and please give these overlooked but equally adorable cats-in-need special consideration. |

This is Tomasina’s story, a tiny tabby found lost and alone - a not so unusual case of a kitten in need, and this charity’s equally not-so-unusual response to ensure its safety.

Regular worming is an essential part of responsible pet ownership. Unless you are routinely using an effective dewormer your cat will almost certainly be infected by this parasite. Even if your cat is not showing any obvious signs of a worm infestation, it could be suffering health problems, such as weight loss, diarrhoea, vomiting, dull coat and lack of energy. Follow our recommendations to ensure your cat remains a happy and healthy one.
