Fundraising appeal for special needs cat ‘Jelly’

10 April 2013

Jelly is a young special needs puss with neurological problems. This fundraising appeal aims to find 30 caring people to sponsor him at £5/month over a year to help fund his essential veterinary treatment. Be as special as this brave little cat (and his dedicated fosterer), watch our short video and please sponsor him today!

Jelly’s story…

This sweet young brown tabby male came to the charity with 15 other cats. They were rescued from living in sadly deplorable conditions in a high-rise flat in Hull. As the owner could not afford to look after the cats properly, the council asked us to take them ALL in and find them new homes. Because of uncontrolled interbreeding in a confined space, JELLY’s condition is neurological leaving him with a very wobbly and uncoordinated gait (as his name aptly suggests).

From his young age (5 months when rescued), he was carried around because he was not able to protect himself from the other cats and his mobility was very limited. Luckily for JELLY, his Caring for Cats short-term fosterer, fully aware of his limitations physically and his possible limited life span, offered him a permanent foster home. He took a few weeks to find his way around his new home and soon became more mobile. He is not able to get on to anything that is “high up”. But, this does not stop him from enjoying a very mischievous and playful life with a very loving family used to coping with disability.

Jelly is most definitely one of the many special cats this charity does not give up on, just because he was born with a disability. Will you support him too?
