Rescue story: Feral cats in danger in Hull City Centre

15 July 2013

SEVEN stray cats, one very caring member of the public, two dedicated volunteers, Hull city centre. These are the key elements of our latest rescue story of homeless cats surviving as best they could in a city car park.

A concerned lady rang us about a group of cats she had been feeding while at work since last October, and was at a loss for who else to turn to for help as one by one she was seeing them become victims of the heavy traffic. Charity cofounders Rose and Steve knew they had to act swiftly to save the others, and rearranged their already hectic week to spend two long days patiently waiting at the location with traps, catching each in turn. Here’s the ‘thank you’ note with a kind donation we received from the lady who contacted us:

“Steve & Rose: I just wanted to say a big thank you for everything you have done. It is truly amazing that within six days of contacting you my “four girls” and their three friends are now safe and being well-cared for. I’ve worried for such a long time and still would be if I hadn’t found you. I will miss them all but know that they now have the chance to lead a safe and happy life. The work you do is inspirational, I wish there were more people like you. Please say hello to the little guys for me!” [Karen]
